In September 2021, teachers in Landshut, Germany and Seminole County Georgia, United States were connected and began having virtual exchanges of students with a focus on agriculture. A team from Seminole County visited Bavaria in October 2022 to see first hand the way the school promotes and teaches agricultural practices. Members of the German team are visiting Seminole County this week! They are visiting Seminole County Middle High School, local agricultural businesses, and local tourist attractions including Lake Seminole and Panama City Beach. We hope this exchange program will eventually include the physical exchange of students between Bavaria and Georgia. We want to create opportunities for students to compare agricultural education and industry in both areas, experience global agriculture and differences in crops and practices, and finally, to be exposed to different cultures and customs.
Included in the pictures are the Ag Leadership class that has been participating in the exchange program and the German team. Also included are local school, city, and county officials who met the German team upon their arrival to Seminole County.
