Last Friday night, your Seminole County Indians held their first football game of the season at home against the Kendrick Cherokees. The Indians quickly got the ball rolling with a fumble recovery touchdown by Quon Owens. Terry Daniels also had a huge kick off return. He stated that, “The team showed up, were locked in, and were ready to play.” The Indians demolished Kendrick 53-16. Michael Beard, Right Tackle, said, “The team executed the plays very well. We were also very physical.”

This Friday was also the premiere of the Seminole County Green Machine under the direction of the new band director, Chelsea Willis. “Friday was an amazing performance and I could not be prouder of our Green Machine. I look forward to the opportunity to make improvements throughout this season. The only place to go from here is up and our members are ready to start climbing.” We are so excited that Ms. Chelsea is here! The band was able to introduce new stand tunes such as “Hey Song” and “Sweet Caroline”, and they premiered their halftime show with the theme of “Rock n’ Roll”. The show included “We’re not Gonna Take it”, “Paint it Black”, and “It’s my Life”. It is a great performance that you do not want to miss.

The student section also showed out with the Hawiian theme. Cheerleader Captain Ashlyn Thompson and Co-Captain Ava Thompson led the cheerleaders on Friday, as they kept the stands pumped!

This Friday, the Indians travel to Early County to play the Bobcats. Let’s show the Bobcats our Indian Pride.
