On November 30th, the SCES Seminole Singers and the SCMHS Choral Department came together as one and brought “Sounds of the Season” to our community. The show was amazing and truly touched the hearts of many. To a packed house of almost 500 audience members, the chorus groups performed an array of Christmas favorites. Their rendition of “Carol of the Bells”, which also included many chorus alumni from years past, was phenomenal. Mrs. Burke, director of the middle and high school choirs and Legacy show choir, stated “Excitement was an understatement. Hearing hundreds of voices singing together, in harmony, brought tears to my eyes. All of these kids worked really hard to make this happen, and it certainly paid off”. Middle school chorus members showed as much enthusiasm when asked about the concert and how they feel about chorus. Wyatt Blackburn commented, “Chorus brings out the best in us. It takes commitment and team work to pull this off”, and MaryKate Kelley interjected that “it sparks joy in the entertainer as well as the audience. I am so glad to be a part of this diverse group.” Well done, Seminole County chorus members!
