The second full week of school was a busy week for Seminole County students. Assignments started piling up and grades were being posted. Students also had to take on the responsibility of voting for student council, homecoming representatives, student council officers, and choosing their clubs. Seniors were busy picking out and ordering their Jostens supplies, while many athletes were getting fitted for their letterman jackets. I guess you can say these students had a lot on their plate this week, but they handled it like a boss and got the job done.
The cafeteria has definitely become the hub of all activity. The food is warm and good and the sweet is cold and fresh! The cafeteria also feels like a safe environment because the food is served with a friendly smile and they often ask how the students are doing and sometimes even crack a friendly joke. The food is so good that some were wanting seconds, so now students can get a second plate of food with their student lunch card. Sharing is caring, and that's what our school is all about!
Homecoming is coming quick and we are getting ready for the big weekend. On August 17, each grade voted for homecoming representatives. This year’s representatives are: Freshman - Jayla Coachman and Jada Coachmen; Sophomore - Geisha Smith and Kendall Denham; Juniors - Brittney Robinson and Sara Jo Fain; Seniors: Key’Shyriah West, Savannah Alderman, and BethAnn Smith. On September 23, 2022 our homecoming representatives will be recognized on the football field during half time and the homecoming queen will be crowned. Please come out and support our Seminole County Indians and make it the best homecoming ever.
Student Council is a group of students elected by their peers to address issues, concerns and help organize student events and activities. During Tribe Time, the students were allowed to vote on who they thought should be a part of the student council from each tribe. Then, from those selected, students voted on who they thought should serve as the student council officers. Jordyn Barber was elected as the SCHS student council president, Taneria Williams will serve as vice president, Kendall Denim will be the reporter and Makenzie Tate will serve as secretary. Congrats to those who were elected!
