The Whiskers and Tails Club recently visited the Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain, Georgia, just outside Columbus. During their trip, the students had the opportunity to explore a 500-acre park filled with a wide variety of animals from around the world. The group participated in the drive-through safari, where they saw animals like giraffes, zebras, and camels up close. They also explored the walkable zoo area, where they observed Bengal tigers, African lions, and other exotic species. The visit provided an exciting, hands-on learning experience about wildlife and conservation. It was a fun and educational day that the students will remember!

On Friday, Georgia State Representative Gerald Greene visited Seminole County Middle/High School, where he engaged with students and staff on a variety of important topics. During his visit, Representative Greene was interviewed by 8th grade student Cason Gross, who is working on his Social Studies Fair project. The interview focused on Driver's Education and how the state legislature can further support this vital program. Cason asked insightful questions about the challenges and potential legislative solutions for improving driver education in Georgia. Representative Greene also visited Mrs. Allison Stegall's 8th-grade Georgia History class, where he discussed recent legislation concerning cell phone use in schools. He provided students with a deeper understanding of the legislative process and its impact on everyday life, particularly in the school environment. In addition to his discussions with students, Representative Greene enjoyed lunch in the school cafeteria, where he tried the well-loved SmartMouth pizza. He took time to interact with students and staff while sampling one of the school's favorite menu items. Before leaving, Representative Greene toured the new school facility, gaining firsthand insight into the state-of-the-art improvements at Seminole County Middle/High School. The visit was a meaningful opportunity for students to connect with their local government representative and learn more about the role of the state legislature in shaping policies that affect their education and community. Thank you, Representative Greene for taking time out of your schedule to visit the students of Seminole County.
